Arizona Mourns the loss of the Fallen 19

The memorial for the Fallen 19, Granite Mountain Hot Shot Crew, who lost their lives fighting the Yarnell fire, will be tomorrow in Prescott Valley. The Memorial will only be open to family members (inside Tim's Toyota Center). Others may watch the service from outside the venue.

Memorial organizers said the memorial is a way for firefighters, families, and the community to mourn and honor firefighters from Prescott, who died June 30 battling the Yarnell Hill wildfire (about 20 miles south of Prescott).
Vice President Joe Biden will be in attendance. As will firefighters from across the world.
Jumbotron screens will be used in the parking lot outside of Tim's, to show the memorial live. Organizers are warning the public that the lot has no shade. Water stations and portable toilets will be available. There are several restaurants within walking distance of Tim's.
The memorial will also be broadcasted on several Arizona TV stations.
For updates on the memorial and to make donations, go online to: www. yarnellfallenfirefighters.com. Contributions can also be made through the Red Cross.
The event will be streamed live through NBC as well (Phoenix station 12).
This tragic event has hit the community of Prescott very hard. At least 5 of the firefighters attended Prescott High School, and ties are tight in this town dubbed, "Everybody's Home Town". As one resident put it, " There is a shroud of gloom and doom over our town, it doesn't feel like things will ever get better right now". The State of Arizona is rallying around it's prized, forested community. Volunteers from hundreds of organizations have been helping residents cope with the loss. If you or someone you know needs help getting through this difficult time, please contact the Grand Canyon Chapter of the Red Cross.
In addition, www.fallen19.org is also accepting donations. Please visit this site to see which restaurants are making donations to this cause. If your restaurant would like to get involved, please contact the organization immediately.
